Our regular volunteer days
|
During the autumn, winter and early spring we do lots of scrub clearing. This is such an important task and something we that we always need lots of voluntary help for. By clearing invasive plants like the willow and hard cutting back of the buddleia more plants will grow thus increasing biodiversity - and its not just more plants but more insects like butterflies or bees.
|
Tools and refreshments are provided (free). Everyone is welcome (children need to be accompanied by an adult) – we don't bite!
Our regular volunteer days are one Sunday afternoon a month – keep an eye out though on notice boards or this website for dates and times of these and some of the other ad hoc voluntary work events led by us or other groups on the park. |

Hailey Park Code of Conduct
_Along most of the main paths in the park
you will now see posts with public notices on them - these highlight the
need to follow a code of conduct through this busy part of the park.
The full code of conduct can be found in Welsh and English on both
notice boards on the park and is found below in pdf form (Welsh and English).
The most important thing is to remember that the paths through Hailey Park are for everyone and this tends to make travel through the park slower than other parts of the Taff Trail. Please respect all users.

Recent Sunday voluntary events
Painting - in preparation for a Green Penant award we're hoping to win in the future so we need to make sure the entrance to the park off Ty Mawr Road is looking its best. Many thanks to those who came along to help - it was hard work but good fun as well, helped along by copious refreshments from Sylvia.
To find out all about the sort of voluntary work we do on the park CLICK HERE to go to 'Voluntary work on the park' - the two pictures below are also from other previous tasks.
