2020 Dates we need help
on the park 12 March 2020: Note that due to Covid-19 there will be no voluntary work on the park until further notice.
Forget weight machines, treadmills and exercise bikes. If you want to keep fit, head for Hailey Park one Sunday afternoon. Its free and keeps you fit with a purpose. From Ty Mawr Road, there would be a shared use path going to your right, which would cut across the field, avoiding the car park and that hairy right hand turn and rejoining up with the main path. ... MORE
Welsh Water are working at the park at the moment. They have removed a long wide strip of vegetation in the meadow area then will be back later to deal with the sewage pipes underneath. Details below in pdf files, including map of area of work and Welsh Water contact details for more info.

Sometimes we also pull up sycamore saplings as there are hundreds of them in the woodland and we need to let more light reach the floor so more plants like hawthorn can come up.
Help is always wanted – its a great way to get fit (always working at your own pace) and improve the local environment at the same time. We meet in car park (top of Radyr Rd) You need to wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear. |

Tools and refreshments are provided (free). Everyone is welcome (children need to be accompanied by an adult) – we don't bite!
Our regular volunteer days are one Sunday afternoon a month – keep an eye out though on notice boards or this website for dates and times of these and some of the other ad hoc voluntary work events led by us or other groups on the park. |
