Play Regeneration Project

Picture
This is the current state of the 'senior' play area, which we will regenerate first
Picture
For years the play areas on Hailey Park have been degenerating ...

Therefore, over the past year or so, the Friends have been discussing with the council how we can help improve the play facilities. We have now decided on a three-stage project.
Some of the money for the main play area will come from grants (and some from Cardiff Council's Play Regeneration Budget held over for us from last year).

Titan is an amazing fairground-style ride that has angled rotating arms to give a surprising and exhilarating ride for children of ages and abilities. Hanging, sitting, standing or puoling - Titan has been designed to provide all the fun-of the-fair!
_The draft for the senior play area can be found below (downloadable pdf file). The idea is to keep a few items already in the area, as they only need sprucing up, which the Friends will do.

_Latest News

We managed to raise enough needed to match the grant, and even better news is we’ve been awarded the full grant we asked for.

Hopefully we’ll be on target for completion by the summer holidays

_And there's more ...
  • The younger play area has been given a little bit of a makeover too - money for this was solely from another small grant made available to the park.
  • In stage 2 we're suggesting to the council a fitness area where the 'hardstand' is, as its not suitable to put normal play equipment on there. For this we can also get separate funding from external sources.
  • The idea for stage 3 is to develop a 'natural play area'.
