We've managed to raise enough needed to match the grant.
Even better news is we’ve been awarded the full grant we asked for.
Work will begin on the playground week beginning Monday 9 July 2012 and be ready by the summer holidays. Many thanks to all who made this happen.
The cost of the refurbishment of the Outdoor Activity Centre has been funded in full by a grant awarded to the Friends Group under the Landfill Communities Fund scheme. The funding was contributed by Lamby Way Landfill Site (Cardiff City Council owned) and enabled through an independent Environmental Body, Community Funding Resources.
Many thanks to the children of Llandaff North (and their parents) who helped fundraise the community's contribution towards this. Thanks also to Friends of Hailey Park, Cllr Siobhan Corria, Brian Russell (Cardiff Council), Nigel Morgan (Community Funding Resources Ltd), and Lew of Lew's Coffee Shop for their help and support.
Many thanks also to local businesses, James & Jenkins (Station Rd, LN), Cartwrights (Station Rd, LN), and Freedom Choice Care (Rumney), and Simon Kirke (ex drummer Free & Bad Company) for their kind donations.
Thanks also go to Llandaff North Community Centre and the Royal Exchange Pub for the loan of their premises for fundraising and the article in Echo that highlighted our project.
