Who We Are

We're a group of park users and local residents, dedicated to improving Hailey Park in Llandaff North, Cardiff (CF14).

We formed in May 2007 and have over 100 members who support our work via membership, or performing practical tasks such as being a committee member, attending meetings, events, or voluntary work.

Our aims and objectives are set out in our Constitution, and we work closely with Cardiff Council Parks Department, Police, local representatives, schools, and other organisations such as Sustrans and Friends of Forest Farm.

In addition, we help to support the Council through providing voluntary assistance with maintenance and conservation work, park promotion, events, as well as providing help/support with funding applications and ideas for future developments.

Over years we’ve held regular meetings, developed one of the playgrounds, weekly litter picks, painted out graffiti on the changing rooms, installed 2 notice boards, improved and increased seating and litterbins, carried out path maintenance and ongoing regeneration of the meadow (to increase biodiversity), built a beebank, nature events for everyone, cycle safety event, heritage walk and much more.

While over the years we have been in receipt of the Green Flag Community Award, in 2020 we received the prestigious Green Flag Award. This is down to a concerted effort working with the community and Cardiff Council.

Membership has been consistently set at a low cost but it means a lot to us – with more members we can get more grant funding and we thank those members who give us additional donations.

Our group wouldn't be able to function as well as it does without the help of the Parks Department at Cardiff Council, in particular, Ranger Gareth Stamp.
