Its time to engage children with nature again!
http://outdoornation.org.uk/2012/10/19/how-do-we-engage-children-with-nature/
The right to play is the child’s first claim on the community. Play is nature’s training for life. No community can infringe that right without doing deep and enduring harm to the minds and bodies of their citizens.

David Lloyd George (1928)

There is a need to provide children and young people with opportunities to reconnect with nature, by being able to explore their environment from an early age, thus enabling children to become inquisitive adults, independent thinkers and learners who not only want to know more about the world but also recognise their reliance on it.
