Sometimes we also pull up sycamore saplings as there are hundreds of them in the woodland and we need to let more light reach the floor so more plants like hawthorn can come up.

Help is always wanted – its a great way to get fit (always working at your own pace) and improve the local environment at the same time. We meet in car park (top of Radyr Rd) You need to wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear.

During the autumn, winter and early spring we do lots of scrub clearing. This is such an important task and something we that we always need lots of voluntary help for. By clearing invasive plants like the willow and hard cutting back of the buddleia more plants will grow thus increasing biodiversity - and its not just more plants but more insects like butterflies or bees.

Tools and refreshments are provided (free). Everyone is welcome (children need to be accompanied by an adult) – we don't bite!
Our regular volunteer days are one Sunday afternoon a month – keep an eye out though on notice boards or this website for dates and times of these and some of the other ad hoc voluntary work events led by us or other groups on the park.
