All updates for the pumping station have now been moved to a site dedicated to saving the park from unwanted development
Many residents, including Llandaff North Residents Association, Rebelmams (not forgetting the Rebel Kids) and ourselves, are campaigning to stop this project even though planning application has been agreed and council seemingly have leased the land for it too. We still have many questions and concerns over transparency surround this project.

Cardiff Council response to the legal letter!
Cardiff council have responded to our solicitor, and confirm that they intended fighting us in court. We'll be working with our legal team over the weekend, ready to respond on Monday.
Until then, we're unable to comment further on the legal proceedings.
However, the issue of Hailey Park land being leased to Welsh Water for the sewage pumping station (made by cabinet on 28 Sept) remains completely separate to the legal challenge, and we will continue to pursue this – Cardiff Council can reverse this decision and protect the park from development.
Welsh Water cannot build the compound without permission from the landowner, even if they have planning permission: WW do not have any statutory powers for above-ground work.
We call on Cardiff Council cabinet to reverse their decision to lease Hailey park land to Welsh Water for the sewage pumping station.
LNRA, Friends of Hailey Park – Cyfeillion Parc Hailey Parc Hailey and YGC Rebel Mams had a very useful meeting with Julie Morgan MS yesterday, and are working hard behind the scenes as we write.
Thank you for your continued support and in the meantime, please do donate if you can. Thank you

1. Council Leader, Huw Thomas has turned down our request to meet urgently, saying he can't because of our legal action.
3. We've had to start fundraising again for the next legal stage. We understand times are hard, but please give what you can. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/savehaileypark...
4. Anna McMorrin MP wrote a letter, supporting our legal challenge today! Thank you Anna HERE
5. Following our meeting with our Cllrs last night, we await an update on progress of our questions …
6. The campaign was featured on BBC Wales this morning, and is featured online https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-63287571
We're being interviewed for radio tomorrow, and will post a link.
TV ecologist Iolo Williams has also been supporting us on Twitter! We said we'd buy him a drink when he's next in Cardiff
1. Council Leader, Huw Thomas has turned down our request to meet urgently, saying he can't because of our legal action.
- Our solicitor says it's not unreasonable to meet - 'better to have an open line of communication, which might avoid the need for a contested claim.'
- We've fed that back to our Cllrs and repeated our request. We've also asked our MP and MS to arrange a meeting on our behalf; We've even suggested he meets with Rebel Mams and FoHP alone.
- We're available 24/7
- We're waiting to hear…

1. Cardiff Council have requested an extension from the deadline tomorrow 18th, to the 21st. Our solicitor has agreed.
However, because Cardiff Council haven't conceded to quash their planning decision by tomorrow, we now need to instruct our barrister to prepare papers for the 24th, which will cost us £12k.
But!...Separately, and outside of the planning and legal processes, Cardiff Council could stop the development by withdrawing their permission for Welsh Water to use their (our!) land.
2. Huw Thomas has been advised not to speak to us now we have started legal proceedings.
(This is disappointing as Cllr Ali first asked for meeting on 5th Oct, and nothing materialized.) We've requested Cllr Thomas meets with Rebel Mams and FoHP instead.
3. On 28th Sept the council cabinet agreed to lease Hailey park land (see screenshot). Cllr Burke-Davies reports that she had to declare an interest and withdraw from the meeting for that item.
4. Cllr Jennifer Burke-Davies and Cllr Dilwar Ali met with us, YGC Rebel Mams and Friends of Hailey Park – Cyfeillion Parc Hailey tonight.

We asked ...
- For a timeline of correspondence from when Cllr Ali first asked Huw Thomas for a meeting.
- Who (individual or a group) in Cardiff Council made the decision to let Welsh Water use land on Hailey Park for a sewage pumping station, and when.
- Why the four original sewage solutions (that Plasdŵr were granted planning permission on) weren't utilized?
- If the cabinet have agreed to lease the Hailey Park land (see no. 3), they can agree to reverse their decision? Via what process and timeline?
- We asked if our Cllrs would sign our forthcoming draft 'open letter', and they advised they'd need to take advice in case a conflict of interest might arise.
